Sininen Jättiläinen
Atlas Of Lappish Highlands
Regardless of religion or irreligion, for us Finns the fells are sacred. They are synonymous with adventure - and the most unforgettable stories are born out of adventures.
Historical peaks from which the Earth has been proven to be round and the aurora borealis has been proven to be an electrical phenomenon. Iconic slopes conquered by UFOs and sworn to eternal oaths. Views of valleys where entire villages have been submerged under artificial lakes and ecosystems collapsed into hanging streams. Tales of giants and falling into the love of the wise men that only the masters of the Lapland supplement can tell.
Out of thousands of options, the content of Atlas was chosen with thought:
"What if the fells had kept a guestbook of events on their slopes?" After careful consideration, fifty events were folded into the covers that have left an everlasting imprint on the essence of the Northern Lapps - an immortal story that echoes through northern man, community and nature.
The stories in Jenny Siivola and Tytti Muurinen's bold visual presentation run through the eight seasons of Lapland, from Christmas to berry summer and from spring winter to first snow.
The work's unforgettably stunning look and charged, rich stories create an experience that evokes emotions in a powerful way.

Mukavasti koottu kirja Lapin tuntureista tarinoiden myötä. Vastasi odotuksia. Hyvä joululahjaidea. Toivottavasti lahjan saajakin tykkää.
